Oscar Solis is a doctoral candidate in Personal Financial Planning at Texas Tech University. He serves as a graduate assistant for the Texas Tech University Graduate School Office. Mr. Solis received both his Bachelor's in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies at Texas Tech University, specializing in Business, Education, and Exercise Sports Science.
His current research concentrates on money management and debt management with his most recent work focusing on student loan and credit card debt. Mr. Solis has participated and presented research at both regional and national conferences. He has actively been involved with several professional organizations. He also serves as an Outreach Based Peer Financial Planner with Red to Black .
Academics not being his only focus, Oscar Solis excelled as a student-athlete, serving as a two-year starter and four-year letterman in the Texas Tech University football program, and lettering one-year in track. He is a member of Omega Delta Phi, Inc., a multicultural fraternity, and has devoted much of his time to volunteer and community events such as the annual “Oscar Solis Football Camp,” South Plains Food Bank's “ U Can Share Food Drive ,” “Stuff The Bus” school supply program and “Christmas Food Distribution” programs.
